New York, NY, May 8, 2014 – MDC Partners Inc. (NASDAQ: MDCA; TSX: MDZ.A) announced today that its partner public relations agencies earned top distinctions from The Holmes Report, with three MDC firms named in the elite Agency of the Year rankings. At the yearly SABRE Award ceremony on May 6th, Allison+Partners, kwittken + company, and Veritas were named as Midsize Agency of the Year, Small Agency of the Year and Canadian Agency of the Year, respectively, with Allison+Partners also bringing home the highly coveted grand North American Agency of the Year title. In addition to their distinctions as agency of the year, Allison+Partners and kwittken + company were also awarded SABRE awards for their exceptional client work, as was MDC firm Exponent PR.
“Strategic communications plays an extremely powerful role in business success today, and our partner firms have long been recognized as innovative, nimble partners to many of the world’s most forward-thinking clients,” said Miles Nadal, Chairman and CEO of MDC Partners. “We are deeply committed to the evolving strategic communications space, and to supporting our partners in delivering the most effective and creative work in pursuit of disruptive innovation, especially as they continue to expand in scale, global footprint and expertise. I am thrilled to celebrate our partners for these well-deserved accolades.”
In recognizing Allison+Partners as both the North American Agency of the Year and Midsize Agency of the Year, The Holmes Report celebrated the firm’s strong growth, impressive new business wins, international expansion in China, Singapore, and France, and exceptional client work worldwide. As evidence of the successful results delivered for a wide range of clients, the agency also received SABRE awards for its work with Samsung in the category of Product Media Relations: Trade, its work with Dropbox in the Technology: Software and Servicescategory, and its work with the Public Interest Registry in the Research and Planning category.
Named Small Agency of the Year, kwittken + company was praised by The Holmes Report for its expanded sector expertise, year-over-year growth, additions to practices such as the Content Labs, and creative offerings both as a stand-alone agency and in partnership with fellow MDC firm kbs+. At the award ceremony, the agency was awarded a sought-after Sabre Award in the category of Professional Service Firms.
The Holmes Report also delivered high praise for MDC Partners agency Veritas, which was named Canadian Consultancy of the Year for its wide range of creative ideas (digital and social, experiential, and traditional) across multiple sectors, and for “punching above its weight” as it relates to client roster, thought leadership in the areas of social media, measurement and evaluation, and in the quality of its creative work for clients such as Microsoft and Target, among many others.
At the ceremony, Exponent PR was awarded in the category of Specialist Audience: Marketing to Men for its Duluth Trading Co. campaign, which invoked hometown pride and friendly intercity rivalry to differentiate Duluth Trading Company’s version of an essential fall wardrobe piece: the classic flannel shirt. This comes on the heels of the firm’s nomination as Small Agency of the Year.
Each of the firms honored in the Agency of the Year ranking and SABRE Awards were selected by The Holmes Report’s editorial staff from agencies across the Americas.
