Matt Chesler serves as Vice President of Investor Relations and Finance for MDC Partners. In this role, he oversees all investor communications activities for the company, including responsibility for articulating the company’s strategy, growth prospects, and financial performance to equity and credit investors, research analysts, and the ratings agencies. Matt also actively participates in the company’s capital markets and financial reporting activities. With over 10 years of Wall Street experience, Matt brings a deep knowledge of the media and advertising ecosystem, and thorough understanding of MDC’s business, having covered the company in his capacity as one of the industry’s top senior analysts.
Prior to joining MDC Partners in 2013, Matt worked at Deutsche Bank as an equity analyst covering the media sector, with primary research responsibilities for advertising agencies, magazines, outdoor, newspapers, directories, local TV, and audience measurement. He also served as a member of the Internet & Interactive Entertainment team during this period. Matt has earned many industry accolades, having twice been named an “Up and Comer” in the Publishing & Advertising sector by Institutional Investor. Matt was also a member of a team that was ranked in the annual Institutional Investor survey and won a Wall Street Journal “Best of the Street” stock-picking award. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2003, Chesler worked in the accounting industry for six years for Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Matt is a graduate of NYU’s Stern School of Business with an M.B.A. in Finance. He also holds a B.A. from Pomona College, and is a CFA® charterholder
